El fotógrafo checo Jiri Ruzek (1967), una de cuyas fotografías ha merecido ser tapa de «Nude Photography», el voluminoso libro (680 páginas) de la editorial española LOFT Publications, recientemente llegado a la Argentina, ha incluído en un sitio un comentario mío sobre parte de su abundante producción. Se trata de un fragmento de un texto más extenso después de la publicación de un primer libro con obra de Ruzek, uno de los más destacados fotógrafos jóvenes de la República Checa.
En cuanto al libro «Nude Photography», de última aparición en nuestro país, recoge imágenes de otros 20 creadores europeos y norteamericanos que destacan en los últimos años en fotografía de desnudo artístico. El precio del pesado volumen es entre nosotros de 115 pesos y cuenta con prolijas impresiones, todas en blanco y negro, en grueso papel satinado.
El fragmento, recogido por el sitio de desnudo www.pinkerotica.net, es el que figura a continuación, en traducción al inglés (tal vez no del todo precisa) del castellano original:
«His photographic production leverages the simplicity and modesty for rich images. The common denominator in his contrasting black and white pictures, is the solitude and seclusion of portrayed women. He has chosen a situation of isolation and feminine confinement, beautiful naked women who seem bewildered, as if waiting for something that will cause them pain. Or maybe it’s something that’s already happened, something painful, and that left them so lonely, desolate and sore. They do not have a mask of indifference or disgust, but an internal condition that neutralizes or denies the vitality of their naked bodies. It is not known whether they have chosen to be alone or abandoned. In any case they are not seen happy, or serene. They are single women, waiting with some anxiety. His way of use light and shadow emphasizes this dramatic atmosphere.»

Jiri Ruzek (* Aug 29, 1967 in Litomerice, Czech Republic).
In 1995, he asked his first model for a photo-session. In 2004 he moved to Prague to live and work there. Went on to explore a variety of styles, but is most noted for his black-and-white artistic nude passionate photographs with a slight suggestion of some micro-story.
